HBL is looking to hire a Compliance Officer in Mauritius who will be responsible for assisting the Head of Compliance on all Regulatory Compliance aspects and AML/CTF/CPF & Sanctions initiatives in Mauritius.
Job Details:
- Implementation of bank’s various policies (existing/developing/addendum), associated procedures, SOPs, product programs, process flows and SLAs at the time of renewal/development as and when required by the local regulator as well as all Compliance Functions as specified in the relevant policies and procedures of the bank.
- To provide support in identifying, analyzing and disseminating the latest global regulatory information; Monitor developments in local regulatory landscape and assess the impacts on the bank’s framework along with suggestions on implementation plans, if any.
- Act as Data Protection Officer
- Review on-boarding applications
- Conduct periodic reviews of customer files as per established frequency.
- Promptly escalate any critical issues to ensure that the Bank is not investigated, charged, fined or publicly castigated by any of the regulatory authorities and/or international bodies.
- Responding to queries from LEAs and local authorities.
- Preparing and submitting relevant report to Senior Management
- Preparation and delivery of training to staff on AML/CFT/CPF & Sanctions.
- Attend ad hoc assignments and complete within agreed timeframe.
- Act as the Deputy MLRO in the absence of the MLRO
- Any other duties as assigned by the Head of Compliance
Location: Mauritius
Experience:
- Holds a degree and/or any acceptable professional qualification
- 5+ years of experience in compliance within financial services of which 3+ years should be in the banking sector
- Expert knowledge of applicable laws and regulations pertaining AML/CFT issues
- Deep knowledge and understanding of Mauritius regulatory framework
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Strong MS skills, especially World, Excel and PowerPoint skills
